RESUMPTION OF RECEIPT OF RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATIONS

Dear Customers! The reception of residence permit applications will resume. In the offices of the external service provider VFS Global, customer reception will start on March 11, 2024, please follow the website of the service provider: https://www.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/hungary/china/english/. Opening hours of the Consular Section during winter holidays season

Please be informed that from the 29th December 2023 - except for cases of urgent emergency involving a Hungarian citizen - the Consular Section will be closed.

Outsourcing of residence permit applications

We hereby inform our Dear Applicants that from June 19, 2023, it will also be possible to submit some types of the residence permit applications at the VFS Global Company. VFS Global has a total of 4 visa application centres in our consular district which are the following: Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Fuzhou.

Closure Due To The Hungarian National Holiday in 2025

For the occasion of the Hungarian national holiday, the Consular and Visa Department of the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai will be closed from October 23rd to October 26th. We will reopen the Consular and Visa Department on October 27th.

Closure Due To The Chinese National Holiday in 2025

For the occasion of the Chinese national holiday, the Consular and Visa Department of the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai will be closed from October 1st to October 8th. We will reopen the Consular and Visa Department on October 9th.

Outsourcing of residence permit applications

Changes in the appointment for applicants who have obtained the Hungarian permanent residency through the LMÁK program

Dear Clients! We hereby inform you that from the day of November 22nd 2022. VFS Global is going to accept the applications for the extension of the permanent residency from applicants who have obtained the Hungarian permanent residency through the LMÁK program. To submit your application please proceed to the official website of VFS Global for appointment.

Minor changes in the appointment booking system

Those applicants who have obtained the Hungarian permanent residency through the LMÁK program, for the extension of the permanent residency please use the visa.shg@mfa.gov.hu e-mail address for appointment. The above mentioned type of case is still not available in the online appointment booking system.

VFS Global Visa Center will resume operation

We would like to inform you that the VFS Global Visa Center will resume operation from the 25th August, 2022 as an external service provider, which is authorized to receive Schengen visa applications on behalf of Hungary.
